“Can Women Not Do Anything Without it Being About S*x?” Millie Odhiambo on Sabina Chege Saga

Mbita Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo is not happy with the way the Sabina Chege- Wazir Chacha saga has been twisted by the media to revolve around the suspect’s alleged sexual escapes with female MPs.

There have been unconfirmed reports by some sections of the media that the alleged fraudster had intimate relations with 13 female MPs.

But Millie Odhiambo, in a fiery post on Facebook, detailed how the female legislators had discovered Chacha’s con game and raised the alarm on their common WhatsApp group and agreed to report to the matter to the police.

“He would either solicit for money for Hon Sabina’s alleged cancer treatment abroad or would create a crisis that required urgent money. He coned both male and female MPs and non-MPs alike. A number sent him money.”

“One way of trying to con women MPs was to try hitting on them with sexual messages. We share information on our wassup and we discovered he had tried to con several women MPs,” explained Millie.

“As women MPs we agreed to report him to the police. Then suddenly the story became about sexual innuendos to direct connotations of sexual engagements.”

She went on to point out how the media put up a picture of a man identified as Samwel, who took a photo with Sabina Chege, and claimed that Samwel was Chacha.

“Shamelessly someone has even gone to the extent of putting up a photo of a guy called Samwel from Muranga who took a photo with Hon Sabina, his MP, purporting it to be a photo with the conman Chacha,” wrote Odhiambo.

The MP further wondered why women can’t do anything without it being about sex.

“I know sex sells but I find it abhorrent for any person or institution to spin this nonsense. Can women not do anything without it being about sex?”

“I am sure if I told you women MPs had Nyoyo(githeri) for lunch you would find a way of making it sexual. May be we had sex with the beans and now the maize wants sex too. Like I have always said, did any woman MP borrow your “V” and misuse it? It cannot always be a vagina monologue,” said Odhiambo.
