Governors Waititu and Ngilu Kiss and Make Up After Ugly Public Spat Over Charcoal – VIDEO

The animosity between Governors Ferdinand Waititu and Charity Ngilu has been put to an end.

Speaking on Tuesday in Kakamega during the ongoing Devolution Conference, the two leaders said that they had resolved their differences.

“Absolutely resolved,” said Mrs Ngilu.

“We must make sure that we support the protection of the environment and ensure our people have a different way of living, not through the cutting of trees.”

The Kitui County Governor added: “We worked together in the Water Ministry where I was minister and he was my deputy. We have a lot in common and want to see that devolution helps our people.”

The Kiambu Governor echoed her sentiments saying: “It is true, we have resolved it, we have been neighbours for a long time, very good neighbours. We have resolved those differences and are moving forward together.”

The bad blood between the County bosses began after a lorry ferrying charcoal was burnt in Kitui days after a video surfaced of the area governor allegedly inciting youth to torch vehicles found ferrying charcoal.

Baba Yao then sued his Kitui counterpart over her alleged inciteful remarks that according to him led to the torching of the lorry.
