Over 40 People Shot Dead in Terrorist Attack on Two Mosques in New Zealand

Tragedy has hit the island country of New Zealand as U.S. news outlets are beginning to learn that over 40 people lost their lives in a terrorist attack on two separate mosques. Just hours after the attack, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told the media, “It is clear that this can now only be described as a terrorist attack,” before adding, “These are people who I would describe as having extremist views, that have absolutely no place in New Zealand, and in fact have no place in the world.” The terrorist even live-streamed the first shooting episode at the Masjid Al Noor mosque where he claimed at least 30 lives.

In addition to the 40 people killed in this orchestrated massacre, roughly 25 people were seriously injured by the gunfire. Although information about how this was actually pulled off remains scant at the moment, Ardern pointed out, “From what we know, it does appear to have been well planned.”
