“I did not rape three women,” man tells Nairobi court

A 23-year-old man has been charged with raping three women in Pipeline estate.

Police said John Mwangi Gatukia committed the offence on the night of March 9 in Nairobi’s Pipeline area - in Embakasi.

The court heard that one of the victims was sick - and that the other two women had come to visit her and were to spend the night together.

Police said the accused stormed the house at around 10.00pm armed with a knife - and confiscated the complainant’s mobile phones.

Mwangi is alleged to have raped the sick woman first - as she lay on the couch - after ordering the two visitors to cover their faces.

Police said he went on to rape the other two women before taking off. The accused was later arrested by police.

Mwangi however denied the rape claims and alternative charges of committing an indecent act. He was was granted a personal bond of Sh500,000.

The matter will be mentioned on April 30.
