Harambee Stars Take a 2-0 lose Against the Hungry Algerian Desert Foxes

Harambee Stars players and Fans left the June 30 Stadium a disappointed lot after a lucksture performance saw Kenya go 2-0 down at the hands of the Desert Foxes from Algeria.

Harambee Stars did not pose any major threat to the Algerians with the boys from the North constantly raiding Kenya’s defence, an act that ultimately paid off in the 34th Minute when Midfielder Dennis Odhiambo fouled Youcef Atal in the Kenyan box.

Baghdad Bounedjah stepped up and converted from the Penalty Spot giving Patrick Matasi no chance to even make a move in the right direction.

The Algerians were not done as Riyad Mahrez who was a constant threat to the Kenyan defence turned in Ismael Bennacer’s cross from 12 yards with a cool left-footed strike. Keeper Patrick Matasi was beaten to this one courtesy of a deflection from Kenyan Defender Aboud Omar.

Second half saw Kenyans continue to play some unconvincing football as the Algerians continued to search for the goals.

No goals come by except for a number of fouls and stoppages.

Kenya now turns her attention to neighbours Tanzania knowing that a win will give them hopes of making it to the next round.

Algeria on the other hand will have to prepare well for a Senegal side that will witness the return of Liverpool Star Sadio Mane.

As Things stand, both Algeria and Senegal are top of group c with the same points and goal difference.

Kenya and Tanzania on the other hand have a lot of work to do as they are yet to even bag a goal in the Tournament.

Who do you Think will Make it Past Group C?
