'Lubbish!' Leave 'matutas' alone – Owiyo fires at Pastor Ng’ang’a

The fire that controversial Neno Evangelism founder Pastor James Ng’ang’a lit while ranting on alleged disrespect accorded to him and his wife in his church is not about to die soon.

Veteran Benga maestro Suzanna Owiyo has in particular taken issue with Pastor Ng’ang’a’s fiery ‘matuta’ comment as he went on a tirade against his bishops.

According to Owiyo, matuta is a sexy hairstyle that Ng'ang'a should keep off.

She explained her fondness to the retro-inspired look as a style every African woman can relate to.

“Every African woman can relate to matutas... There’s that natural aspect look it gives. Matuta is a sexy hairstyle. Excuse me Pastor Ng‘ang’a! If you reading this! please focus on the faith of your believers not their matutas. Me in Matuta some years back. Pier diel. Lubbish,” she posted on Twitter.

It all started after a 6-minute video clip of Ng'ang'a threatening to kick out preachers he accused of disrespecting his wife emerged online.

In it, the preacher who boasts dozens of affiliate branches across the country branded the suspected bishops as “stupid, useless people.”

“If you are not going to respect my wife I will kick you out of my Ministry it doesn’t matter who you are. This time I will show you my power. If you don’t respect her, leave my Church and go start your own wajinga hawa,

“You have become rich in my church. Stupid, arrogant, useless people, taka taka, rubbish. There is nothing you can tell me... They want to bring Neno down because I’m the founder.

“I want full respect when I cough you answer, just the same way you did when you came here with torn clothes, and you’re rich because of me.”
