Dependable Harambee Stars Defender Ruled Out of Senegal Clash

Just when Coach Sebastien Migne was looking at the possibility of having a full house heading into the vital Senegal clash, dependable Harambee Stars Defender Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma has been ruled out of the Monday Night clash due to an injury.

The extent of Marcelo’s injury has not yet been revealed. His absence will be a big blow to Kenya with the youngster having put in a brilliant display last time out against Tanzania.

Coach Migne will however welcome back defender Joash Onyango who will be fighting for a starting berth alongside youngster Joseph Okumu who has had some great displays in Kenya’s last two matches.

Gor Mahia Defender Philemon Otieno is also available for selection after missing Kenya’s match against Tanzania due to injury. He is expected to be in the starting line up to take up his Right back Position.

Kenya will face Senegal at the June 30 Stadium from 10PM E.A.T.

A win for either team will guarantee them a place in the knockout phase of the Africa Cup of Nations.
